On Sunday, November 15, 2020, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Brazzaville and Gabon officiated and preached the Divine Word in the Parish Church of Saint Fotini in the Mpaka suburb of Pointe-Noire.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, he read the encyclical according to which the Divine Liturgy will also be performed on Saturday afternoon in all the parish churches of the Metropolis of Brazzaville so that the faithful can, in consultation with the priests, participate in the Divine Liturgy except for the Divine Liturgy week, since the health authorities of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville allow the attendance of up to fifty believers in each service.
Metropolitan Panteleimon prayed for the elimination of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A long meeting followed with the members of the Church Committee for the proper and safe operation of the Parish.
It is noted that the aforementioned parish church was founded in 2007 by the Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa during his official visit to the country, under the ministry of the late Metropolitan of Pentapolis, Ignatios, who was then Metropolitan of Central Africa.
The first shepherd of the newly established Metropolis of Brazzaville and Gabon, Panteleimon, decided the resumption of construction work, which had been suspended for a long time due to lack of financial resources, on October 12, 2014, while the consecration of the church took place on Good Samaritan Sunday, May 6, 2018.
