Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia issued a message at the beginning of the school year in the Republic of Moldova, urging all those involved in the educational process to preserve their spiritual and Romanian identity values.
“In a school year marked by challenges and opportunities, let us remember our spiritual and Romanian identity values. Remember that every lesson and discovery is a chance to get closer to the Divine Truth and contribute to the common good,” Metropolitan Petru noted.
The message delivered on Monday addressed students, teachers, and parents.
“Students starting a new year of study may be blessed with wisdom and zeal for knowledge. ‘He who learns and strives to understand is in love with wisdom’ tells us another holy father, and we must support this quest.”
Metropolitan Petru also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the teaching staff, thanking them for their effort and dedication.
“In particular, we address with gratitude and respect the teachers and the entire teaching staff because the wise teacher is the one who motivates and guides, making the light of knowledge shine in the students’ hearts.”
“We thank you for your effort and dedication, which contribute to the formation of character and the spiritual and intellectual development of the younger generations,” Metropolitan Petru added.
Furthermore, in the second part of the message, the Metropolitan of Bessarabia addressed the parents, whom he called “the main pillars of home education.”
“Continue to be models of virtue and guide your children towards a thorough education and a life full of faith,” Metropolitan Petru continued.
“At the beginning of this school year, I wish you success, health, and fulfilment. May it be a blessed year full of achievements!” concluded Metropolitan Petru.
