Maia Sandu received a congratulatory message on Sunday from Metropolitan Petru, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Lands, on the occasion of her birthday.
In his message, Metropolitan Petru expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Moldovan President in serving the Republic of Moldova during a challenging period marked by social divisions and uncertainty.
“Your anniversary today offers a natural opportunity to express our appreciation for the efforts with which you serve the Republic of Moldova, at a time when our society seeks balance, clarity, and direction after numerous divisions, ruptures, and anxieties,” the Metropolitan wrote.
He emphasized that “today, more than ever, there is a need for solidarity, common effort, and people capable of looking beyond immediate interests, keeping in mind the good of future generations.”
The Metropolitan of Bessarabia also praised President Sandu for remaining “close to the identity and spiritual values that unite people, heal the wounds of the past, and give meaning to our common efforts.”
Concluding his message, Metropolitan Petru conveyed blessings and good wishes on behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Bessarabia.
