The Metropolis of Austria and Metropolitan Arsenios expressed their sorrow and extended condolences to the clergy and the congregation of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the sudden loss of its charismatic primate.
The late Patriarch served the Church with self-denial and piety at difficult times after political and social changes, and constant challenges that the flock of the Serbian Orthodox Church had to face for many decades, fighting for the spread of the Divine Word, its spiritual fruitfulness and the unity of Orthodoxy all over the world. It was God’s will to call the soul of His faithful servant to Him at the age of 90,” stressed in his announcement Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria.
When informed about the repose in the Lord of the Patriarch of Serbia, Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria offred a Trisagion service for the rest of the soul of the late Patriarch at the Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Vienna, hoping to console the sorrowful clergy and the flock of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the loss of the great church figure.
