Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis has completed 15 years of archieratical ministry since 2004 when he was ordained Bishop by late Archbishop Christodoulos at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens.
The Metropolis of Alexandroupolis put on many events on Sunday, October 20, 2019, in order to celebrate the Metropolitan’s anniversary.
Metropolitan Anthimos presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Metropolitan Cathedral, where attended many local governors and believers.
The Spiritual Centre of the Metropolis held a music event on Sunday, which was dedicated to the 15 years of archieratical ministry of the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, with the participation of the “Saint John Chrysostom” mixed chorus.
Metropolitans Damaskinos of Didymoteicho, Panteleimon of Xanti, and Panteleimon of Maroneia also attended the music event.
At the end of the event, Metropolitan Anthimos delivered a speech and said, “Church is not isolated from society, but a part of it. The Church exists only when it is open to the world.”
