On April 12, 2026, Metropolitan Nifon presided over the solemn Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Resurrection at the cathedral of the historic Wallachian capital, Târgoviște.
Prior to the service, the Metropolitan distributed the Holy Light to thousands of faithful gathered outside the cathedral, creating a deeply moving Paschal atmosphere. He later officiated the Paschal Vespers, also known as the Second Service of the Resurrection, during which the Gospel was proclaimed in multiple languages, highlighting the universal message of Christ’s Resurrection.
The celebrations drew a large number of worshippers, including many young people, reflecting the vitality of faith and strong attachment to Paschal traditions in the region.
Following the liturgical services, Metropolitan Nifon hosted a Paschal reception at the Eparchial Residence, attended by clergy, monastic representatives, and members of the local Church community.
In his homily and later address, he emphasized the profound theological and missionary significance of the Resurrection, describing it as the decisive event that renews the world and opens the path for Christian civilization. He underlined that the message of Pascha is one of peace, truth, justice, love, harmony, and reconciliation.
Concluding his reflections, the Metropolitan referred to the Apostle Thomas, noting that his doubt ultimately served to confirm the reality of Christ’s Resurrection and guide believers toward the fullness of faith.
