The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago today marks a significant milestone, as clergy and faithful across the region celebrate the seventh enthronement anniversary of their spiritual leader, Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago.
In a statement shared on official platforms, the Metropolis expressed gratitude for Metropolitan Nathanael’s unwavering dedication, pastoral care, and visionary leadership over the past seven years.
“Today, our entire community celebrates and prays for our Shepherd and Spiritual Father, His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago. We are grateful for his vision, his leadership, and his love,” the message read.
The expression “Πάντα Άξιος” — “Always Worthy” — traditionally used to honor hierarchs of the Orthodox Church, was offered in celebration of the day, reflecting the deep respect and affection of the faithful.
Since his enthronement, Metropolitan Nathanael has been recognized for his emphasis on spiritual renewal, outreach, and community building, guiding the Metropolis through both moments of growth and times of challenge with a steady hand and pastoral heart.
