On February 27, Metropolitan John of Zambia and Mozambique visited the Child Jesus Cathedral in the Diocese of Lusaka, where he met with Dr. Alick Banda, Archbishop of Lusaka.
The two religious leaders discussed the official visit of a delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), which is set to take place in Zambia this April. Their meeting focused on the preparations for the upcoming conference, which will address intercultural dialogue on people, race, and religion as a means to promote global peace.
Additionally, Metropolitan John and Archbishop Banda explored potential areas of collaboration between the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church to better serve the people of Zambia. Their discussion highlighted the importance of Christian unity and joint efforts in fostering spiritual and social well-being in the region.
