Metropolitan Ieremias of Gortyn spoke of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine and made clear that second thoughts on the issue were out of the question within the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece.
He answered a question that was asked during his speech at the celebration of St. Demetrius at the Church of Agios Dimitrios in Athens that since there was a synodical decision the issue was over. He also highlighted that it was wrong to call the clergymen of the Church of Ukraine ‘schismatic’ because their Church is canonically recognised.
In addition, the Metropolitan revealed that some of the Hierarchs had doubts over the issue. Besides, their questions were answered during the competent committees of the Church of Greece.
