Metropolitan Iakovos of Mexico visited Venezuela, where he held a series of meetings accompanied by Bishop Hesychios of Marciana and Bishop Timotheos of Assos.
During his stay in Caracas, Metropolitan Iakovos met with the Board of Directors of the Greek Orthodox Community to discuss the life, needs and future of the Orthodox Church in Venezuela. He also met with a Greek family, which warmly welcomed him and presented him with a photograph as a keepsake symbolizing the enduring bonds of the Greek community across generations.
The Metropolitan also visited the Embassy of Greece in Caracas. The meeting provided an opportunity for dialogue and for strengthening ties among the Orthodox Church, the Greek diaspora and Greece, while reaffirming support for the communities of the Metropolis of Mexico throughout Latin America.
Metropolitan Iakovos additionally visited the Armenian Apostolic Church in Caracas, where he was welcomed by Bishop Bedros Manouelian. Their meeting focused on dialogue and Christian fraternity, further strengthening relations between the two Churches.
The encounter also highlighted the importance of continuing to build bridges of mutual respect, friendship and cooperation while jointly bearing witness to Gospel values within their respective communities.
