According to the competent authorities, no criminal charges have been filed against them, while the investigation remains ongoing. The case reportedly concerns a vehicle inspection during which alleged prohibited substances were discovered, with authorities still awaiting the full results of laboratory examinations.
From Metropolitan Hilarion’s side, it has been stressed that the discovery itself does not answer the central question of the case, namely, how the specific items came to be inside the vehicle. His legal defense has raised concerns regarding the circumstances that led to the police intervention, the procedures followed during the inspection, and the handling of the confiscated evidence.
Metropolitan Hilarion categorically denies any involvement in the illegal possession or transportation of prohibited substances, while his legal team is calling for a full and independent investigation into all aspects of the incident.
It is recalled that Metropolitan Hilarion came under public scrutiny after Czech authorities carried out an inspection during which alleged prohibited substances were reportedly found either in his possession or inside the vehicle transporting him. The case prompted an immediate response from law enforcement authorities, although no charges have been brought so far.
At the same time, the case has sparked reactions and public statements from the defense side, which insists that all circumstances surrounding the detention and vehicle inspection must be fully clarified.

According to information available to the editorial team, Metropolitan Hilarion and the driver accompanying him have been released from custody in the Czech Republic.
No charges have been filed against them. They were released without any additional restrictions — no bail, travel ban, signed undertaking, or other procedural obligations.
At the same time, it has reportedly been confirmed through forensic examination that the substance discovered in the vehicle belongs to the category of prohibited substances. According to the Czech side, the investigation will continue.
Representatives of Metropolitan Hilarion stress that the mere discovery of a prohibited substance does not answer the central question of the case — namely, how these items came to be inside the vehicle.
According to the defense, key issues remain the circumstances surrounding the anonymous tip that led to the vehicle being stopped, the origin of the discovered items, who had access to the car before departure, as well as the procedures followed during the search, seizure, and handling of the alleged evidence.
