Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited the Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in Kyiv to offer spiritual support to patients, including Ukrainian defenders undergoing difficult treatment and rehabilitation.
During the visit, the Metropolitan met with patients and expressed gratitude to the doctors and medical staff for their demanding and essential work. He also blessed the newly renovated intensive care unit of the cardiology center.
In his remarks, Metropolitan Epifaniy noted that hospitals are places where many questions, tears, and worries are heard, but also where prayers and expressions of gratitude to God arise.
“Recovery depends to a great extent on a person’s inner state, on faith and hope,” he said. “We also know that God works in this world through other people, especially through doctors.”
He emphasized that every person experiences illness at some point in life, and that healing often comes through the knowledge and dedication of medical professionals who serve others.
“Every life saved is a victory,” the Metropolitan stated, adding that doctors are engaged in a tireless struggle to preserve life, especially while treating wounded Ukrainian defenders.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the work of the medical staff, saying: “May the Lord always help you in your important service, and may God’s blessing remain with you all.”
Concluding his message, Metropolitan Epifaniy stressed that every person has a role to play in supporting Ukraine, noting that the struggle for the country’s future is fought not only on the front lines but also through the dedication and service of people in everyday life.
