On the bright and joyous feast of the Nativity of Christ, December 25, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led a solemn Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.
Concelebrating with the Primate were Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, abbot of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkiv, the honorable brotherhood of the monastery, and invited clergy.
During the service, Archbishop Agapit read the Christmas message of the Primate, while Metropolitan Epifaniy offered a special prayer for Ukraine, asking for God’s help and protection during this challenging time.
Prayers were also offered for the defenders of Ukraine, the government, and the Ukrainian people, as well as for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders and civilians who lost their lives during the war.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Epifaniy addressed the congregation with a sermon, calling for unity, faith, and hope in the Lord during these difficult times.
The Christmas celebration ended with the traditional singing of carols in honor of the Savior’s birth.
