On Sunday, January 4, Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon presided at the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity.
Following the service, the faithful proceeded to the historic building that houses the Cultural Association of Modio, where the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita in honor of Saint Basil took place.
The President of the Cultural Association, Ms. Litsa Karagiannopoulou, welcomed those present, while Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon addressed the gathering, offering his warm wishes for the New Year and blessing the Vasilopita.
The event continued with a moving presentation of traditional Christmas and New Year carols by the Modio Women’s Choir, featuring songs from various regions and delighting all in attendance.
Throughout the celebration, the Community offered generous refreshments to everyone present, creating an atmosphere of fellowship and providing an opportunity for the exchange of heartfelt wishes for a blessed and peaceful New Year.
