On the morning of Saturday, February 1st, 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, accompanied by the V. Rev. Archimandrite Bartholomew Iatridis, Pastor of the Saint George Cathedral of Stockholm, Rev. Economos Vasilios Khalil, Cleryman of the Patriarchate of Antioch, and Rev. Economos George Arvanitidis, Pastor of the Saints Demetrios and Nestor Parish of Örebro, Sweden, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the newly established parish. During the Divine Liturgy, the hymns were chanted in Greek, Swedish, English, Slavonic and Arabic.
In his sermon, the Hierarch of the Scandinavian Countries commemorated the feast of Saint Tryphon. At the end of the service, he welcomed the attendees, beginning with the visiting co-celebrant Fr. Vasilios, Fr. Bartholomew, the members of the Byzantine Choir of the Saint George Cathedral of Stockholm, directed by Ms. Eliana Antoniou. He also congratulated Fr. George, the Parish Council, and the volunteers of the parish, who later hosted a meal in the adjacent hall.
In the afternoon, His Eminence and his entourage returned to Stockholm by train.
