Metropolitan Athinagoras of Mexico visited the Paediatric Oncology Unit “Marianna V. Vardinoyanni – Elpida”.
Metropolitan Athinagoras was warmly welcomed by Marianna V. Vardinoyanni, the head of the Children’s Hospitals “Agia Sophia” and “Panagiotis & Aglaia Kyriakou” Manolis Papasavas.
During the visit Marianna Vardinoyanni thanked the Metropolitan Athinagoras of Mexico for his initiative to visit the Paediatric Unit, stressing the importance of the support of the Church and the Greek diaspora in the work of “Elpida”.
“The support of our work by the Church, which over time stands by our side in every way embracing our work, has a special significance for us. Our invaluable ally and source of assistance in our work is always the Greek diaspora, which is for all of us an extension of our homeland with endless love that goes beyond the borders,” stressed Vardinoyanni.
On his part, the Metropolitan of Mexico thanked Marianna Vardinoyanni, stressing the importance of the work of “Elpida”.
”The work of Marianna Vardinoyanni is a labour of love, a work that angels are doing, and what I see here is really moving me. I am glad because I see that there are people who devote themselves selflessly to their fellow human beings and I want you to know that do everything in our power to be on your side”.
