Metropolis of Zambia: Churches may be closed to faithful, but our spirit is not limited

“The Epitaphios will remain inside the churches and behind closed doors this year on Holy and Great Friday.

We were not able to decorate and anoint the Epitaphios with perfumed oil. However, in times of adversity, persecution and epidemics, but also in times of prosperity, health and peace, let us take the example of John Chrysostom, who addressed the Christians of his time and said, ‘Let the house be a Church!’ The Church is neither a building nor a symbol. The Church is the Body of Christ.

Churches may be closed to the faithful, but our spirit is not limited. We are still able to worship the Lord. Faith is an inner experience. We wish you good health!

Happy Easter!”
