Following the suspension of religious services in the canton of Geneve, the Metropolis of Switzerland announced that all Sunday Divine Liturgies and all the services to be celebrated at the parishes (Saint-Gérassime in Lausanne and Nativité-de-la-Mère-de-Dieu in Chavornay) within the canton of Vaud will be suspended until November 30, 2020.
On November 3, 2020, the Council of State of Vaud took stricter preventive measures prohibiting private and public gatherings that exceed 5 people. Religious services celebrated in churches fall into this category, except for funerals which can be held only with a minimum number of people who belong to the family.
The Metropolis said that they continue to pray with fervor and hope to the Lord to put an end to this great ordeal.
