The Holy Metropolis of Monemvasia and Sparta warmly invites all members of the Greek diaspora from its metropolitan region to participate in the traditional annual Gathering. The event will take place on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., at the Esperides Estate in Molaoi.
As stated in the official announcement: “Every summer, many of our compatriots visit Greece and our beloved Laconia. On this special occasion, during a dedicated event, we express our heartfelt gratitude personally to everyone who comes to their homeland.”
This year’s gathering will be held at the Esperides Estate in Molaoi, relocated from the courtyard of the “Saint Panteleimon” Foundation in Sparta due to construction work for a new wing at the Foundation.
“We eagerly await our dear compatriots who will be in Laconia… to offer them a dinner and entertain them with pleasant music.”
The invitation is extended to all diaspora members and their families, as well as representatives of associations and societies. Residents of Molaoi are looking forward with enthusiasm to welcoming their esteemed visitors.
The Metropolis also calls on all permanent residents of the region to assist in informing diaspora visitors: “This invitation will be announced through local media, the Metropolis Radio, and the priest of each parish. We kindly ask every permanent resident to inform any visiting compatriots.”
The announcement concludes with a heartfelt greeting: “Dear compatriots, we look forward to seeing you all on August 18… to personally say our great ‘Thank You’ for your tangible love and support.”
