With deep sorrow, the Holy Metropolis of Italy and Meliti informs its faithful flock that Protopresbyter Father Michail Notarangelo Giannetos passed away on Monday night, June 16, 2025.
He served as the parish priest of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas and the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Genoa.
Father Michail faithfully ministered to his parish for thirty years with dedication, humility, and love. He was a model liturgist, a fervent shepherd, and a tireless coworker in the service of the Church. He dedicated his life to ministry, sacrificial service, and Gospel preaching.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Genoa. His Eminence, Metropolitan Polykarpos of Italy and Meliti, will preside.
Clothed in the sacred and consecrated vestments of the priesthood, Father Michail fell asleep in the Lord, awaiting the common Resurrection and the life of the age to come.
May your memory be eternal, beloved and revered Father Michail.
