In an encyclical issued by Metropolitan Germanos of Ilia, no religious services will be held in the churches under the Metropolis of Ilia even behind closed doors.
According to the encyclical, the Metropolitan calls on the priests to stay home due to the coronavirus pandemic and to pray at home during the Holy Week and Easter.
Elsewhere in the encyclical, it is stated the religious services will be held behind closed doors only at the churches that celebrate during the Bright Week, such as Bright Tuesday, the Feast of Saint Georgios, and the Feast of Zoodochos Pigi on Bright Friday.
