On Palm Sunday, Bishop Eirinaios of Rigion presided over the Divine Liturgy, along with Protopresbyter Fr. Panagiotis Xenitellis, at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen in Paris.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Eirinaios referred to the importance of the Feast and wished for the Holy Week ahead of us.
Bishop Eirinaios stated in his sermon:
On Palm Sunday the Church represents, with the evangelical reading, the majestic entry of Christ into Jerusalem. He received the enthusiastic welcome and the apotheosis of the crowd. It was a scene that revealed his messianic greatness: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” God gave to His Son this God-given reception as a reward and support for the great sacrifice to which he was going, a foretaste of the glory that awaited him after the completion of His sacrifice.
Bishop Maximos of Melitini presided over the Divine Liturgy at the parish of Saint Constantine and Helen and the Service of the Bridegroom at the Cathedral. At the end of the service, Bishop Maximos addressed a speech.
