On the Second Sunday of Lent, the Greek Independence Day was celebrated solemnly in the Metropolis of France.
The Patriarchal Vicar, Bishop Eirinaios of Rigion, presided over the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy.
Then the Doxology for the Greek Independence Day took place. The Ambassador of Greece to France, Agi Balta, delivered a speech for the day.
Also present were OECD Ambassador George Prevelakis, Consul General of Cyprus Nikos Panagiotou, President of the Greek Community Seta Theodoridou and President of the Cypriot Community Cypriot Evagoras Mavromatis, the military attachés of Greece and of Cyprus and other representatives of the Greek associations and organizations.
At the end of the Doxology, the congregation sang with deep emotion the Greek anthem.
