The Holy Metropolis of Belgium expressed its joy for the worthy promotion of Metropolitan Emmanuel of France to Elder at the Metropolis of Chalcedon.
Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, began his priestly course in Belgium, near the former Metropolitan of Belgium, Panteleimon, and served from the key positions of Protosyncellus and Auxiliary Bishop. At the same time, he was, along with the current Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium, one of the pioneers of the establishment and organization of the Office of Representation of the Orthodox Church in the European Union.
