The Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson, sent a message to the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain for the New Year.
The Prime Minister specifically stated: “I wish the Greek Orthodox Community of Great Britain every blessing for 2022. On the occasion of the cutting of the New Year’s vasilopita, the huge contribution of the Orthodox Community to this country comes to mind. From the food bank of the Church of St. Nektarios that feeds the poor in Battersea to the Archbishop’s initiative to concede the halls of the Holy Temples to be used as vaccination centers. I look forward to the visit of His Holiness this year, who will bless our country with his presence – so I am sure that 2022 will be a special year for all of us”.
