The Church today honors the memory of the Holy Great Martyr and equal to the Apostles Thecla.
Saint Thecla lived in the years of the Apostles. Listening to the sermon of Apostle Paul, Saint Thecla decided to follow the Christian faith. Thus, she became a fervent teacher and apostle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of her great action, she was taken to court, where instead of betraying her faith, she more courageously resisted the various dilemmas presented to her.
As a result, she was sentenced to death by fire. But she miraculously survived and continued her missionary work fearlessly, with more fervor and more devotion. She rightly received the title of “Equal-to-the-Apostles”.
Saint Thecla passed away at the age of 90. She remained in the life and experience of the Church as a great example for women who fight heroically, but also selflessly offer services in the missionary work of the Church, with love for God and fellow humans.
