Our Church celebrates the memory of Saint Seraphim of Mount Domvu.
Saint Seraphim came from the community of Zeli and became an ascetic on Mount Domvu in Livadia.
His parents were virtuous and pious. From an early age, he had an ascetical vocation. At a young age, he chose to spend his time in ascetism, imitating the ascetics of Nitria and Palestine. Several monks followed his example, who were spiritually guided by him. He managed to reach a high level of spirituality and acquired many virtues. He comforted many believers who came to him for spiritual matters. Several times he went into the wilderness in order to avoid the reputation due to the people’s praise and the enthusiasm of the weak, fearing that he might be deceived and then mislead others from the right path of exercise and spiritual maturity.
He peacefully reposed in the Lord in old age, after having foretold his death, on May 6, 1602. By the grace of God he performed many miracles both before and after his death.
