The Church commemorates Saint Filagrios, Bishop of Kourion, Hieromartyrs Nicephorus and Marcellus, Bishop of Sicily, and Martyrs Ammonius and Alexander of Cyprus, at Solia in Cyprus. Today we celebrate the Apodosis of the Presentation of our Lord, that is, the leavetaking of the feast.
Saint Filagrios lived during the 1st century AD and was a disciple of Saint Peter. He was ordained Bishop of Kourion.
After enduring many temptations from the demons and from the wicked and disbelievers, thanking God until his last breath, he reposed in the Lord.
