On the morning of Friday, December 20, 2024, an Archieratical co-celebration was performed at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Demetrios, commemorating the feast day of Saint Ignatius the God-Bearer.
The service was presided over by the newly enthroned Metropolitan Astios of Berat accompanied by Bishop Anastasios of Kruja and clergy of the Holy Metropolis.
During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Astios elevated two clergy members of the Metropolis to the rank of Economos, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the local Church and their pastoral ministry.
Before the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, a memorial service was held for the repose of the soul of the late Metropolitan Ignatius of Berat, whose name day was celebrated on this feast. Following the service, a Trisagion was performed at the grave of the late hierarch.
