A memorial service for the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide was held today at the Orthodox Armenian Church of the Virgin Mary, where Archimandrite Stepanou Pasayan officiated.
The events and the symbolisms of the day were reported by the Vice Governor of the Metropolitan Area of Thessaloniki, Voula Patoulidou, who pointed out that 104 years have passed since April 24, 1915, the day that is considered the beginning of the Genocide.
“It’s been a long time since then. Nobody has forgotten the events. Others insist on withholding them or directing the attention of mankind, in general, elsewhere. However, the victims know all the details and how diabolically designed in every detail was the way that the Armenians were killed by the Young Turks movement,” she noted.
