During his stay to date in Thessaloniki, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received, at his accommodation and in a private meeting, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, former President of the Hellenic Republic.
He also received the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Gioulekas, responsible for Macedonia–Thrace affairs; Mr. Socrates Famellos, President of the SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance party, together with Members of Parliament Ms. Katerina Notopoulou and Mr. Christos Giannoulis; as well as Mr. Ioannis Amanatidis, former Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament. He further received Mr. Yevhen Shkvyra, Consul General of Ukraine in Thessaloniki, accompanied by representatives of the Ukrainian community, and Mr. Evangelos Venizelos, Professor Emeritus and former Deputy Prime Minister of the Greek Government.
