“The relationship between a student, a scientist, a professional, and the country that helped that person to acquired knowledge is lasting. The experience you gain in a country are those that are effortlessly transformed into political support of this country and economic activity with the people of this country,” stressed Archbishop Elpidophoros of America while Metropolitan Georgios of Guinea, who was representative of Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria referred to the initiatives of the Patriarchate in the field of education in Africa and welcomed the efforts to strengthen the extroversion of Greek education.
The Deputy Foreign Minister for Greek Diaspora, Konstantinos Vlasis, stated that Greece, the country that gave birth to philosophy, science and culture, aspired to occupy a key position in the world academic map. He added that that process would have many benefits for Greece but also for the Diaspora Greeks themselves, who would acquire the necessary equipment for their subsequent course, having, at the same time, discovered their roots. The minister affirmed that The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would always be at the forefront and would assist the Ministry of Education with all available tools in the great effort to promote Greek universities abroad and to attract the interest of the members of the Diaspora in the foreign language programs.
