While en route to Mrkonjić Grad, where he celebrated a memorial service on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the Serbs who were killed and expelled during Operation Storm (“Oluja”), Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met in Banja Luka with Metropolitan Jefrem of Banja Luka.
The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church first venerated the holy relics of the Holy Hieromartyr Platon of Banja Luka at the Church of the Holy Trinity. He then proceeded to the Episcopal Residence, where he held talks with Metropolitan Jefrem.
Also present at the cordial meeting were Metropolitan David of Kruševac, Bishop Sava of Marča, Vicar Bishop, and Dr. Nenad Popović, Minister in the Government of the Republic of Serbia responsible for international economic cooperation and matters concerning the position of the Church in society and the diaspora.
