On January 21, 2025, the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, visited the Metochion of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in Moscow at the invitation of the representative of the Patriarch of Antioch to the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Niphon of Philippoupolis.
The Metochion is located at the Church of the Archangel Gabriel and the Great Martyr Theodore Stratelates on Arkhangelsky Lane.
Metropolitan Anthony and Metropolitan Niphon exchanged greetings on the occasions of Christmas and Theophany. During the ensuing fraternal discussion, they addressed matters of bilateral relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Antiochian Orthodox Church, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
