On Thursday, June 12, Archbishop Makarios of Australia met with Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Health of Greece.
Georgiadis warmly welcomed the Archbishop to his office at the Ministry of Health. They discussed matters of mutual interest, particularly the lives of the Greek diaspora and the ministry of the Orthodox Church in Australia.
During the meeting, Archbishop Makarios thanked the minister for his presence at the recent ceremony where Archbishop Makarios was awarded an honorary doctorate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The Archbishop concluded by wishing Georgiadis good health, strength, and success in his demanding responsibilities within the vital field of health.
In return, the Minister wished the Archbishop continued success in his pastoral mission for the benefit of Hellenism and the Orthodox Church across the fifth continent.
