Archbishop Makarios of Australia had a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Australian Hellenic Educators’ Association New South Wales on Thursday, July 16.
During the discussion, educators from public, private and evening schools presented to the Archbishop an overview of the action and plans of their Association, as well as suggestions for future training programs.
The Archbishop thanked the members of the Australian Hellenic Educators’ Association and shared with them the Archdiocese’s thoughts on the promotion of the Greek language and Orthodox education in public and private schools.
The president of the Association, historian and specialist in Genocide Studies Dr. Panayiotis Diamadis, offered the Archbishop a collector’s book, which is the first English edition on the history of Mount Athos (Sydney Loch, “Athos: The Holy Mountain”, 1957).
