Yesterday, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America met with the Ambassador of Greece in Washington, Mrs. Aikaterini Nassika, reciprocating her earlier courtesy visit to the Holy Archdiocese of New York.
They discussed preparations for the upcoming events commemorating Greece’s National Day on March 25.
During their conversation, they emphasized the importance of the Greek language as a cornerstone of identity and a vital link to the roots of Greek culture.
They also stressed the crucial role of education in preserving Greece’s cultural heritage. Archbishop Elpidophoros reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the schools of the Archdiocese remain a central priority of his ministry.
Archbishop Elpidophoros presented Ambassador Nassika with an icon of Christ the Vine, a timeless symbol of unity, as a token of his appreciation.
