Today in Athens, a working meeting was held between Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique and the Deputy Minister of Development, Lazaros Tsavdaridis. The meeting was held in preparation for the business mission scheduled to take place in Lusaka, Zambia, in May 2026.
The Metropolitan was accompanied by the president of the Hellenic–Zambian Chamber of Commerce, Dimitris Loukas.
The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming business mission, in which Greek entrepreneurs are expected to participate. The mission aims to strengthen the extroversion of Greek enterprises and expand economic relations between Greece and Zambia, as well as between Greece and Africa.
During the discussion, market data and Zambia’s investment prospects were thoroughly examined, with a particular focus on the country’s mineral wealth and development potential. The strategic importance of the initiative for strengthening Greece’s presence in Africa was also discussed.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of the initiative and the necessity of coordinated cooperation between institutional and business stakeholders. This will ensure that the business mission in May 2026 constitutes a significant step toward strengthening the economic, investment, and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
