On April 8, 2025, in the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, a meeting of the chairman, Metropolitan Antony of Volokolamsk, was held with representatives of the scientific circles of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the Belgrade State University, protopresbyter Zoran Rankovic and the director of the Library of the Serbian Patriarchate, Zoran Nedelkovic.
On April 2-5, with the blessing of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, members of the delegation visited St. Petersburg, where they visited the scientific libraries, the St. Petersburg Spiritual Academy, and also worshiped the Orthodox shrines and got acquainted with the sights of the city.
The guests shared their impressions of working in Russian libraries, told Metropolitan Antony about the activities of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of Belgrade University and the meeting of the Library of the Serbian Patriarchate. During the conversation, the topics of expanding cooperation between the Russian and Serbian Churches in scientific and educational domains were raised. The interlocutors also touched on contemporary challenges for Orthodox unity.
