Mayor of Ioannina Moses Elisaf takes initiatives on the city extroversion and wants to develop cooperation with neighboring areas. Important meetings were held in neighboring Albania over the last two days as part of this strategy. The chair of the Municipal Council, Dimitris Papageorgiou, accompanied the mayor while visiting Tirana and Gjirokastër.
One of his most important meetings was with Archbishop Anastasios, the mayor of Tirana, the minister of Tourism as well as with the mayors of Gjirokastër and Dropulli.
The mayor of Ioannina and the chair of the Municipal Council held a meeting with Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. The Archbishop briefed them on the Church’s work in Albania and on the initiatives it has taken. On his part, the mayor expressed the will to fully support this project as well as the actions required.
Moses Elisaf invited the Archbishop to visit Ioannina, noting that the city had the obligation to honor his work, his contribution, and the long and difficult journey. The Archbishop accepted the proposal, saying that he would gladly visit Ioannina, a city that stood by the side of his flock.
