Patriarch Kirill of Moscow sent a congratulatory letter to the New Archbishop Ioannis of Albania.
In his letter, Patriarch Kirill highlights the significant and solemn mission entrusted to the new Primate as the successor of Archbishop Anastasios.
As stated in the letter from Patriarch Kirill of Moscow to Archbishop John of Albania:
“By the will of the Holy Synod and through Divine Providence, you have been placed at the helm of the martyric Church, succeeding the late and ever-blessed Archbishop Anastasios.
This esteemed and weighty responsibility entails unwavering dedication to preserving the unity of the Church, a zealous defense of the purity of the faith, and the steadfast upholding of its canonical foundations—an undertaking that, in these challenging times, calls for exceptional wisdom and great courage.
I fervently pray for you and wholeheartedly wish that the grace of the Most Holy Spirit fortifies you in both spirit and body, so that through your labors, the word of the Lord may flourish and be glorified.
May your tenure as a Primate in the ancient land of Albania be blessed and peaceful. May our great High Priest, our Lord Jesus Christ, multiply the faithful flock entrusted to your care and grant His devoted children the gift of eternal salvation.”
