Lamentations of the Epitaph at the Ecumenical Patriarchate (PHOTOS)

On Holy Friday, April 18, 2025, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Service of the Epitaphios at the Patriarchal Cathedral, joined by Metropolitans Meliton of Philadelphia, Eirinaios of Myriofyton and Peristasis, Chrysostomos of Myra, Theoliptos of Iconium, and Theodoros of Seleucia.

The emotional atmosphere deepened as the Epitaphios procession unfolded, both inside and outside the bustling Patriarchal Church.

The Archons of the Great Church of Christ led the prayer, headed by the Grand Logothetis Theodoros Angelopoulos, accompanied by his wife, Gianna Angelopoulos, Consul Theophilos Georgakis of the Consulate General of Greece, Consul Hanna Tischenko of the Consulate General of Ukraine, and a large, devout congregation.
