On May 16, 2025, an extraordinary meeting of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was held via teleconference. All members of the Synod participated in the meeting.
The Synod reviewed and approved the request of Protopresbyter Oleksandr Trofymlyuk to be released from his duties as Rector of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. The Synod expressed gratitude to Protopresbyter Oleksandr Trofymlyuk for his many years of fruitful service in leadership positions at the Academy.
Upon the recommendation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Protopresbyter Yaroslav Romanchuk, the Academy’s First Vice-Rector, PhD in Theology and Associate Professor, was appointed as the new Rector of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy.
