Meanwhile, Interfax, also citing Peskov, reported that preparations for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump could take anywhere from weeks to several months. Both sides have reportedly agreed that Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is a suitable location for their talks.
It is recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared on Tuesday that Ukraine would not accept any bilateral agreements concerning its future negotiated solely between Moscow and Washington without Kyiv’s participation. He also urged European nations to actively take a seat at the negotiating table to help end the ongoing war.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not rule out the possibility of further direct communication between the two leaders, stating that another call could take place ahead of their scheduled discussions.
Putin and Trump spoke for over an hour on Wednesday, marking the first direct conversation between a U.S. and Russian president since Putin’s phone call with Joe Biden in early 2022— shortly before Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Kremlin also expressed satisfaction with Trump’s stance on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that Moscow sees his position as constructive. According to the statement, preparations are already underway for a future Putin-Trump meeting, though no specific details have been disclosed.
