On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, for a ten-day pastoral visit to the country where the heart of Orthodoxy has been beating for decades.
The Alexandrian primate was welcomed at the international airport by Metropolitan Makarios of Nairobi, Bishops Neophytos of Nyeri, Silvestros of Gulu and Markos of Kisumu, the Ambassador of Greece, Antonios Sgouropoulos, the Ambassador of Egypt, Mahmoud Ali Tallat, the Consul of Egypt, priests from Africa and Deacon Eirinaios.
On Sunday, November 22, the Patriarch will perform the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Pavlos in the area of Kagira, he will visit Nyeri on Monday, Kisumu on Tuesday, where he will perform a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, he will visit the newly established Diocese of Eldoret on Thursday and will return to Nairobi on Friday.
