The Israeli Ambassador to Australia, Amir Maimon, paid a visit to the Holy Diocese of Brisbane, where he engaged in an extensive discussion with Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane. During their meeting, both the Bishop and Ambassador emphasized the importance of mutual respect and shared commitment to common values.
Bishop Bartholomew expressed concern about the resurgence of antisemitic behavior in society, highlighting the urgent need to address and combat this troubling phenomenon. He also conveyed the deep appreciation and respect of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, as well as the clergy and laity of the Holy Diocese of Brisbane, for Ambassador Maimon’s visit.
Ambassador Maimon, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the Bishop’s warm reception, support, and friendship. He extended his best wishes to Bishop Bartholomew as he continues his ministry in his new role as Bishop of Brisbane.
