Two major projects are part of the call for “Protection, restoration and promotion of archaeological sites and monuments of great importance, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (Phase 2)” of the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Economy for the NSRF.
Specifically, the operation “Delos – open museum. Measures to improve the archaeological site and the museum,” concerns the archaeological site of Delos.
The second operation, “Restoration of the Great quadrangle of the Monastery of Daphni, Phase 2” of total eligible expenditure of 1,200,000 euros, concerns the monument of the eleventh-century Byzantine Monastery of Daphni.
Among other things, more recent harmful interventions will be removed, while maintenance and restoration work, as well as landscaping of the surrounding area will take place.
