The proceedings of the International Scientific Conference dedicated to the memory of the late Anastasios, Archbishop of Albania, officially began with an Opening Ceremony, marking one year since his repose. The central topic of the conference is “Greatness in Doing and Teaching” (Matthew 5:19), a verse that encapsulates the life, witness, and pastoral legacy of the blessed hierarch.
It is noteworthy that an official address will also be delivered by Bartholomew, among other distinguished speakers.
The International Scientific Conference is organized by the University College Logos, through its Department of Theology and Culture, and forms part of a series of commemorative events honoring the first anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Anastasios.
The aim of the conference is to offer a scholarly exploration and comprehensive presentation of the multifaceted personality of the late Archbishop, highlighting his theological contribution, missionary vision, and enduring pastoral service. Archbishop Anastasios left an indelible mark on the Orthodox Church and on Albanian society, playing a decisive role in the spiritual revival and rebuilding of the Orthodox Church in Albania.
Through academic papers and theological reflection, the conference seeks to illuminate the depth of his ecclesial ethos, his commitment to education and dialogue, and his tireless missionary work, which continues to inspire both Church and society.
