The Interfaith Council of Albania (KNFSH) through a statement on social media expressed its gratitude for the unified and responsible stance of both the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party parliamentary groups regarding the draft law on Gender Equality, presented by the Ministry of Health.
In an official statement, the Council noted that this decision reflects respect for the natural values and fundamental principles of Albanian society, as well as sensitivity toward the country’s cultural and religious traditions.
“The Interfaith Council of Albania appreciates the dialogue, cooperation, and prudence shown throughout this process, considering it a positive example of institutional responsibility and care for the common good,” the statement reads.
A special acknowledgment was extended to the expert group formed by the five religious communities, as well as to the lawyers, sociologists, and specialists who contributed to the preparation of the professional report and to the advocacy efforts with national and international institutions.
The Council also thanked the Albanian media for their accurate and responsible coverage of the press releases, the report, and the experts’ work, which helped ensure proper public awareness and understanding of the issue.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at protecting human, social, and moral values, while also promoting sustainable development and Albania’s integration into the European Union.
