The information event was successfully held yesterday at the premises of the historic Prinkipo Greek Orthodox Orphanage, in the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
For the first time in 57 years, the Orphanage, the largest wooden building in Europe, opens its doors to welcome all the participants of the event, in which Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke.
The event was attended by Hierarchs of the Throne, the Deputy Minister of Culture Ahmed Misbah Demircan, Consul General of Greece Georgina Soultanopoulou, the Greek Ambassador to London Giannis Raptakis, the Ambassador of the European Community, the Mayor of Pinkipo, the journalist Hakan Çelik, who presented the program, but also the last teacher of the Orphanage, Giannis Kalamaris, and the residents of Prinkipo Island.
